Schools and colleges need to pay just $50 per user, per year for Dropbox Education. The service lets teachers, staff and students work together via cloud storage and lets the administrators completely control the security. Dropbox Education gives schools 15GB of storage to every paid user and requires schools subscribe for at least 300 seats.
With this service, Dropbox is taking on Google,which is already popular in schools with the additional advantage of a hardware backing via Chromebooks. Microsoft also offers plans for schools and colleges.Dropbox will have to fight its two competitors in cloud to make a dent in the education sector.
