Always playing catch up with Usain Bolt's busy schedule? Now you never need to miss any of his races with this app that tracks IAAF's running competitions. Launched in August, it includes news, features and human interest stories as well as photos and videos. It can be downloaded for Android and iOS devices.

FIFA
The international governing body of football, FIFA, expects its first official app for Android and iOS, that was launched recently, to be downloaded 70 million times over the next two months. Now, fans will be able to access up-to-the-minute news on over 200 domestic football leagues. They'll also be able to track the 2014 World Cup in Brazil on their smartphones. Users can tailor the app to follow their favourite domestic clubs and access video content, breaking news and live scores.

Shillong Lajong Football Club
The club launched its app on Android and iOS platforms in Nov, becoming the first Indian football club to have a mobile app. It offers game previews , views, score and more.

Olympic Athletes' Hub
Ahead of the Sochi Olympics in 2014, the International Olympics Committee has released an app that brings together the Facebook, Twitter and Instagram posts of over 5,000 Olympic athletes. They will soon be joined by additional participants in the Sochi 2014 games.

Cricket Australia Live
One of the oldest cricketing rivalries can now be enjoyed on your smartphone or tablet. Free to download, this app for iOS and Android will stream the Ashes series, the England-Australia ODI series, the T20 Big Bash League and selected Southern Stars matches. It also provides news, stats, radio calls and exclusive behind-the-scenes content.
