YouTube Music spotted with new pre-made ‘Mix’ playlists, Related tab for easy discovery

YouTube Music is about to get a couple of new features that will give you more pre-made playlist options and easy discovery of music from the same artists. As mentioned by users on Reddit, one of the features brings four new ‘Mix’ playlists onboard. There’s also a ‘Related’ tab spotted in the new pull-out section now-playing interface.

According to the Redditors, the new set of playlist mix includes Focus Mix, Chill Mix, Workout Mix, and Energy Mix. These are said to show up under Explore > All Playlists section. Like other playlists in YouTube Music, these are likely to show dynamic content based on the user’s listening habits. Nothing can be confirmed for now though. Also spotted was the artwork style for these playlists, which are similar to other playlists in the app.

The new ‘related’ tab, as we mentioned above, shows up in the pull-out menu besides the ‘lyrics’ button. As seen in the screenshot shared by a user, the list shows a horizontal scrolling list of ‘Similar Artists’ along with another ‘More From’ list from the same artist.

9to5Google reports that there’s also an ‘About Artist’ section when the user scrolls down further. It is not for sure how widely both the ‘Related’ tab and the new ‘Mix’ playlist is rolled out. It is claimed that this could be a server size rollout on version 3.65.

This comes days after Google announced that it will phase out Play Music this year. It even asked Play Music to transfer their libraries and playlists to YouTube Music. All they have to do is to download the app on iOS or Android, Click on the transfer button in YouTube Music to get started.
