BGMI needs Facebook! Sounds weird, right? Sadly, that will be the case starting November 5, when you need to install Facebook app on your phone in order to access your BGMI account. BGMI players have so far been able to sync their progress with their Facebook accounts and they have been able to login via the browser on any device. That will no more be the case going forward .

Battlegrounds Mobile India will now require account logins via the Facebook app instead of the web browser. “As we have previously informed you on August 31st, logins with Facebook accounts in the embedded browser of Android devices will be disabled in the future, according to the policy update related to the Facebook SDK,” Krafton said in a statement.

BGMI needs Facebook app from November 5

“After November 5th, logins will be disabled unless the Facebook App is installed on your device; we apologize for the inconvenience, but please install the Facebook App to use the game,” adds Krafton.

Note that this change is only applicable for BGMI players on Android devices. Players on iOS devices do not have this requirement; they can continue to login via the browser.

This requirement should not affect most players, given that the Facebook app is installed as standard on all Android devices. The change should not affect the gameplay experience either.

While BGMI is bringing in this change, Krafton is readying the launch of PUBG New State in India as well as global markets. PUBG New State is coming along as the sequel to the BGMI game, bringing a couple of new features as well as improved graphics experience. Similar to BGMI/PUBG Mobile, PUBG New State will be available for free to all players on Android and iOS devices. The game will be released on November 11 and will co-exist with Battlegrounds Mobile India.
