Huawei unveiled its flagship P50 series at the end of last month. It includes the Huawei P50 and P50 Pro. The latter is a more premium smartphone. It features a unique pill-shaped camera design, and run on the company's own HarmonyOS 2 mobile operating system. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G chipset. That said, a feature that stands out in testing is its display, as per DxOMark.

The Huawei P50 Pro has overtaken Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra in the smartphone display rankings by DxOMark. It is now two points ahead of the Samsung offering. For the unaware, the P50 Pro sports a 6.6-inch full-HD+ OLED curved display with up to 120Hz refresh rate. In terms of numbers, the Huawei P50 Pro has received the top spot with 93 points in the smartphone display reviews. The Galaxy S21 Ultra (Exynos variant) and the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra (Snapdragon model) are on the list with 91 and 90 points, respectively.

Talking about the display, the Huawei P50 Pro features a 6.6-inch full-HD+ (1,228x2,700 pixels) OLED curved display with up to 120Hz refresh rate. It comes with features like 1,440Hz high-frequency PWM dimming, 300Hz touch sampling rate, 450ppi pixel density, and P3 wide colour gamut coverage. After seeing the score, one can safely say that the Huawei P50 Pro's display is as impressive in person as it is on paper.

According to DxOMark, the P50 Pro's display is almost flicker-free. Plus, it is said that the brightness of the display is appropriate for watching HDR10 videos but dark tones lack detail. DxoMark goes on to say that the readability on the Huawei P50 Pro is pleasant in low light and indoor conditions. However, it mentions that the default brightness is too low for pleasant readability in outdoor conditions. Plus, the device shows a slight Yellow/Green cast.
