His "that's one small step for [a] man, one giant leap for mankind" statement will remain etched in history books. And even as the world celebrates the first man on the moon, Neil Armstrong, who passed away on Saturday in the US, a game in India is paying tribute to that moment in space. Games2win has launched an interactive game that recreates the first manned mission to the moon aboard Apollo 11. The online game titled Apollo 11: Mission to the Moon, was launched on August 27 and is gaining popularity among players online.

"Armstrong inspired millions of people all over the world. Creating an online game in his honour allows the younger generation to interactively experience his heroic journey and appreciate the challenges he faced way back in 1969," says Alok Kejriwal, CEO, Games2win.

As part of the game play, the player must skillfully launch the Apollo 11 rocket; then orbit the spacecraft around earth while travelling towards the moon. Next, the player must land on the moon's surface and finally re-enter earth, ending the journey safely in the ocean. Also, to add to their virtual experience, players can click on a link to receive a paper model rocket design of Apollo 11. They can download, print, cut and build it into a real-life memento.

"Today's youngsters weren't born when this historic journey took place. This game allows us to relive that moment and ensures that Armstrong isn't just a name that we read about in history books," says Kunal Shah, an avid gamer.
