Samsung’s Bixby AI assistant logo leaked
Samsung’s latest flagship smartphone Galaxy S8 is rumoured to come with a new digital assistant named Bixby.
Bixby's logo might have been leaked. Samsung is soon going to launch its Galaxy S8 flagship smartphone that is rumoured to come with proprietary new digital assistant Bixby.
According to a report from Neowin, a trademark application filed with the European Trade Mark and Design Network filed by Samsung shows a new logo - 'B'- which could very well be the icon or logo for Bixby.
As per the filing, Samsung's new logo will be used for "interactive computer software enabling exchange of information," - a description that fits Bixby's description.
Neowin also notes that the logo could be a stylised number 8, which presumably fits in the S8 branding.
Earlier leaks also suggest that Samsung's Bixby assistant will support eight languages at the start with more languages support coming in the future.
As per ETNews reports, Samsung S8's Bixby will support more languages that the Google Assistant which currently supports only English, Hindi, German, and Portuguese (only on Allo). Interestingly, Apple's Siri is the clear winner in this arena and offers support for more than 30 languages. Microsoft's Cortana also offers support in more languages than the Google Assistant.
Additionally, Samsung's Bixby is expected to come integrated into native apps such as camera and voice search. The female voice of the virtual assistant is said to be called Kestra, while Bixby will be the name for the male voice. Aslo, recent leaks of images of S8 show that Samsung has designed a dedicated button for Bixby.
