Want a job? Join Twitter
Tired of posting your résumé on every other job site? Here's a short cut. Create your profile on Twitter for companies like Verizon and Microsoft are posting openings on the social-networking site...
Job boards have "become saturated," says a Newell Rubbermaid VP. "With Twitter, we don't have to go through that huge pile of résumés." And the tweets have seen big successes: in one week, 4,622 Twitter visitors ended up at one firm's job-listings site.
Tweeting job openings costs less than using major online job boards, and it's a way to find job candidates who know the right stuff: 'We needed someone that understood social media, so we thought, 'Why not go to where these people go?'" says a video-production firm's president. Plus, Twitter can make job-seeking more interactive: those looking for work can tweet questions back to companies.
