Flipkart launches Motorola 4K Android TV Stick in India, priced at ₹3,999

Flipkart on Monday announced the launch of the Motorola 4K Android TV Stick in India. The streaming dongle will be available on the e-commerce platform in the third week of March for ₹3,999.

The Motorola 4K Android TV Stick comes with a 2GHz quad-core Cortex A53 64-bit processor and Mali G31 MP2-850 graphic engine. The device runs on the Android 9.0 operating system. As expected, the streaming dongle runs on compatible apps with Android TV. It also ships with built-in Chromecast functionality.

The new Android TV stick also has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of ROM. The dongle supports multiple resolutions, ranging from 2160p to 720p at 60 frames per second. The HDR 10 and HLG video formats are also supported. There are also hotkeys for popular OTT applications such as Amazon Prime Video, YouTube, Zee5, and of course, Netflix.

Other highlights of the Motorola 4K Android TV Stick are Dolby Audio, Google Home (UI), Google Assistant, and Wi-Fi 2.4 GHz / 5 GHz – Dual Band (Broadcom) support.

Flipkart's new dongle will compete with a wide range of media streaming devices and dongles in India. The most popular in this segment is the Amazon Fire TV Stick. The 4K variant of the dongle is available for ₹5,999. The streaming device comes with an Alexa voice remote control and access to all top OTT applications such as Disney+Hotstar, SonyLiv, Netflix, YouTube, Voot, and Discovery+.

You can also consider Xiaomi's Mi TV Stick, which costs ₹2,799. The dongle comes with access to the Google Play Store for apps. It has Chromecast built-in as well. Other than that, it offers popular OTT apps such as Prime Video, Netflix, Disney+ Hotstar, Zee5 and more.
