WhatsApp beta users are seeing 89oday. Here’s why

A strange bug has been messing up the timestamp of messages on WhatsApp beta. Messages that are exchanged more than 60 minutes ago are shown as 84oday instead of today and 89esterday instead of yesterday. A user on Twitter pointed out that it's impacting only the sent day stamp and another one said said it's happening because the first character of the 'sent day' is being replaced by the ASCII code of that letter. The ASCII code of T is 84 and 89 for Y. This bug is only seen on WhatsApp beta, so you won't see it on your phone if you're not a beta tester
