Vivo sponsors a number of international sporting events. In 2015, the firm signed a two-year deal to become the title sponsor of the Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket event, which began in 2016. The sponsorship was extended until 2022 after the arrangement was renewed in 2017. In the same year, the firm signed an agreement with FIFA to be the official smartphone brand sponsor of the FIFA World Cups in 2018 and 2022. In addition, the corporation became a title sponsor of the Pro Kabaddi League in India.
It was the first smartphone maker to show off an in-display fingerprint sensor, which was later adopted by the majority of smartphone manufacturers. With the debut of the VivoNex in 2018, the business was also the first to deploy the motorised pop-up camera module in a smartphone.
