Interacting with lock-screen notifications? Maybe someone is reading!

No matter how convenient this feature is, privacy issues will always trouble you! It was rolled out by Google with the launch of Android 5.0 to let you interact with the notifications directly from the lock screen without having to open the phone and going to the app - a great time saver. However, what if someone else reads your sensitive messages or take a photo of the screen? If the message is visible to you on the locked screen, it is visible to all those around the handset. It can get scary if you have left your phone and gone elsewhere. This is surely a matter of serious concern.

However, you can turn it off. To hide your sensitive information from the lock screen, you will need to go to the Settings and then App & Notifications. There, tap on Notifications and slide the toggle bar of 'Sensitive Information' towards the left.

Filled home screen by app shortcuts? Clear them

When you download an app from Google PlayStore, it automatically creates its shortcut on the home screen. Eventually, your home screen runs out of space and mess up the entire front end. It looks very messy and cluttered. Though the purpose of app shortcuts on the home screen is to let you open your most used applications in no time, but this abundance of apps can slow down your device too. To disable the automatic app shortcut, you will need to long press on your home screen and then go to the Home Settings. Turn off the toggle bar of the Add icon to Home screen option. You can also long press on a particular app to remove it from the home screen.

Your background apps may be using your data!

Several apps on your Android phone might be using your data to update in the background, so that you can quickly access the app when you use it. You are right! This feature is there to help you, but not just one, several apps all together can leak your internet data without even asking you. Thankfully, you can adjust it. To adjust the background data usage, go to the Apps in your Settings and then select an app. Go to the settings of that particular app, there you can control Background data under Mobile data and Wifi.

End annoying ads!

Google uses your online footprints to personalise your ads on the basis of your interests. This can be handy to get the content and ads of your interests but sometimes overdose may annoy you! To end these personalised ads, you can simply go to your Settings, tap on Google and then Ads. There you will get, 'Opt out of Ads Personalisation', and it's done!
