The new Google Passkey feature for Android and Chrome has been rolled out to make password authentication easy and secure. It has been rolled out to developers for now. Most users are likely to get it at the end of the year. Passkeys are a safer alternative to passwords and other forms of authentication. "They cannot be reused, don`t leak in server breaches, and protect users from phishing attacks", Google said in one of its blog posts. Passkeys are built across different operating systems and browsers. It can be used for both websites as well as apps, hence, it is compatible with Windows, macOS and iOS, and ChromeOS.

As shared by Google, creating a passkey on Android or Google Chrome requires confirmation and authentication by using the same via face ID, fingerprint, or other modes. When signing in, you can use any of these ways to authenticate your identity. You can manage these passkeys through Google Password Manager. The best about these passkeys is they get automatically backed up to the cloud and can be easily recovered when you lose your phone or get logged out. Know how you can sign into Google android or Google Chrome by using these passkeys.
