It's like the amalgamation of your sound as well as furniture needs! Speakers which come to you wrapped within perfectly fitted cloth and wood makes it more than JUST a Bluetooth speaker. In fact, it actually is more than a Bluetooth speaker. Wondering how? Well, Sevenaire delivers you a huge box of Saturn 360 Speaker cum roundtable which can be used for multiple purposes -- from linking it with your smartphone, playing music to taking calls, or even charging it up like a power bank.
When you receive it, you will find the table top consisting of speakers and three wooden legs separately, which can be easily assembled with its attached screws. Within minutes, your scattered parts of the table will turn into a piece of furniture that also double up as a Bluetooth speaker. As mentioned earlier, this is more than just a speaker. It comes with two USB ports of 2.1A and 1A, both of which can be used to charge your phone or other compatible devices.
Sevenaire Saturn 360 Design
One of the reasons that the Sevenaire Saturn 360 speaker is getting noticed is because of its unique concept and design. Without a doubt, Sevenaire Saturn speaker works well with its fine-edged walnut wood legs and top round head. At the first glance, no one can even guess that actually 6 speakers and 4 bass radiators reside inside the tightly wrapped grey textured cloth enclosure (for this model) around the table top. Actually, the combination of textured wood with cloth gives it a classy look. It is rigid too. Coupled with the table-like design, it gels well with your drawing room for decoration. In my case, it even works as a bed-side table to keep your essentials.
Talking about its portability, consider this first as a piece of furniture, and now think about it: how much effort do you need to move a round table from one place to another? Because the Saturn 360 is essentially a piece of furniture and that means it is going to test your strength. Though, you can't consider it as portable as other Bluetooth speakers, it still is easy to shift within your home (as long as you have no trouble moving 8.4 kilos around).
Sevenaire Saturn 360 audio performance
The Sevenaire Saturn 360 speaker features an 88W stereo sound output. As its name suggests, it delivers the audio in 360 degree direction. However, you still need to consider the acoustics and math depending on your room.
The sound is moderately good in quality; good enough to make me vibe on the weekend home get-togethers. Even at the maximum volume, I did not notice major distortion or any disturbance. But if you are a ‘Bass'-holic person, then this will not satisfy you. Despite the fact that Sevenaire Saturn 360 is equipped with 6 Speakers and 4 bass radiators, it completely lacks a meaty low-end. No bass means no party feel, at least for me! If you were considering it as a party speaker, you need to look elsewhere. But as a speaker for daily purposes, small get-togethers at home or small parties, this will do just fine.
Connecting your smartphone to the Sevenaire Saturn 360 is as quick as pairing any Bluetooth speaker to your phone. If you aren't that savvy with Bluetooth, its AUX port can connect your non-Bluetooth devices. The Saturn 360 Speaker is equipped with an in-built mic to take calls while being connected. The mic system can catch your voice from any corner of the room but anyone can hear your conversations; that's your choice to make -- whether broadcast your conversation to the world or unplug it from your phone. The good thing is that you have the option if you seek to do that.
Sadly, there is no in-built voice assistant here: the presence of Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa may have worked wonders, given that this is supposed to be a smarter appliance. I also missed the FM radio function. For the premium you pay, Sevenaire could have added one of these two features.
Sevenaire Saturn 360 Battery Life
With the Saturn 360, I was able to get long battery life lasting up to 9-10 hours of continuous playback on a single full charge. Once its 6600mAh battery starts draining towards its null point, a voice prompt will inform you about the low battery. It takes around 3.5 - 4 hours to completely charge it up. You can check the battery status with a couple of blinking red LED lights beside the charging port.
Verdict
Sevenaire put a lot of responsibility on the shoulders of Saturn 360: a speaker, power bank, and a classy piece of furniture. For the most part, it hits the right chords in all those aspects. The Saturn 360 speaker is bound to amaze your friends with its unique style and reasonably good audio output. That said, the speaker's lack of bass at most volume levels could be a let-down for those seeking a party speaker. And when you are spending ₹23,999 on a speaker, it is natural to have higher expectations with the audio quality.
So, who should buy the Saturn 360? If you are after the novelty factor of having a table that also plays music, it makes sense. However, if you are seeking life-like audio quality, we recommend looking at beefy party speakers selling atthe same price.
