Do you use Microsoft Edge browser in India? BEWARE! Govt says do THIS now
Govt says update your Microsoft Edge browser right now. Here’s why.
If you are using the Microsoft Edge browser in your gadget, then this message from the Indian government is for you! The Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) of the Indian government's Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has found a 'high-risk' multiple vulnerabilities in Microsoft Edge. The Indian government department also raised a warning for Microsoft Edge users using a browser older than version 98.0.1108.55. According to the report, older versions of Microsoft Edge contain a number of system vulnerabilities that allow cybercriminals and hackers to get access to users' devices.
The vulnerabilities in Microsoft Edge are triggered by multiple vulnerabilities in the browser's development that allows access to File Manager even when the user is not actively using the browser. Other issues include memory buffer overflow in Edge's Tab Groups and access to the Webstore API when not in use. Cyber invaders and hackers can easily bypass security constraints on a system and cause a denial of service conditions by exploiting these flaws.
What should Microsoft Edge users do
