Google Chrome is one of the most preferred browsers. It has some of the most utilitarian functionalities. Apart from that Google Chrome users can also use extensions to expand the web browser's capabilities and customize it as per their preferences. The Chrome Web Store offers thousands of browser extensions for different purposes. However, even though Google Chrome extensions are allowed to be installed from various sources, installing them from some third-party sources might land you in trouble - deep trouble. Problem is that these extensions may have malware hidden in them by hackers. To prevent this from happening, many users prefer to use Google Chrome without extensions. You can use Google Chrome with all of your extensions disabled and here's an easy way to do it on Windows 10 or Windows 11.

How to use Google Chrome without extensions on Windows 11 and 10

Step 1:

First of all, open the Google Chrome browser on your desktop.

Step 2:

Next, right-click anywhere on your screen and select New and then tap on Shortcut.

Step 3:

Next, create a Shortcut screen, and head to the Browse button.

Step 4:

Once the “Browse for Files or Folders” window opens, navigate to the location where the Google Chrome is installed by clicking the arrows beside each sub-folder as you open them. 

Step 5:

Next, select the Chrome.exe file and tap on the Ok. 

Step 6:

Now, click the text input box just next to the last quotation mark, press space once, and add the –disable-extensions. 

Step 7:

Once done, proceed to Next and use the text box to name the shortcut “Chrome (Extensions Disabled).” 

Step 8:

On the next screen, you need to enter the name for your new shortcut. Name it something like Google Chrome (No Extensions), and click on the Finish button.

Step 9:

Now, you will find a new ‘Google Chrome (No Extensions)’ shortcut on the desktop. Simply double-click on this shortcut to launch Chrome without any extension.

Step 10:

If your Chrome browser is not opening due to a malicious extension, you can use this shortcut to launch Google Chrome.
