Minecraft is an extremely fun game. And the best part about the game is exploring different locations on Minecraft maps. But this can sometimes be a little boring and frustrating in large maps. And if you ever have to trackback to your home, it is just time consuming and takes away from the experience of the game. Well, there is a solution for this- Minecraft Horse! Yes, you can use Minecraft horses to not only move faster in maps but also jump higher and climb hills easily. Also there are certain fences that you can only clear using a horse. So, if you come across horses in the game, you should definitely try to tame it. But it is easier said than done. Find out how to do it.

But before getting to taming Minecraft horses, there are certain things you should know about them. Horses are passive mobs. In Minecraft, mobs are any AI powered entities that resemble living creatures. Mob is short for mobile entities. Unlike hostile mobs, passive mobs are harmless and do not attack the player despite being provoked or attacked. And most passive mobs can be bred and tamed.

Horses in Minecraft

Minecraft horses spawn in plains and savannas in herds of 2–6. Horses can also be seen in villages inside stables and animal pens. While you can kill a horse to get loot, but usually nothing of high value comes out of them. Upon death, horses drop leather and horse armor and saddle if the horse was equipped with it. So, it makes more sense to tame and breed them instead.

Now, before you try to tame a horse, you must have a saddle with you. Saddles are not hard to come by. You can visit a dungeon or forest and look for it in a chest. You cannot craft a saddle so finding it is the only option available. Once you have the saddle, you can proceed to tame the horse.

How to tame a horse in Minecraft

Step 1:

Find a horse in plains or savannas.

Step 2:

Once found, go near it and press the prompt to mount it.

Step 3:

The horse will probably drop you a few times.

Step 4:

You must climb back again and again till it stops trying to throw you.

Step 5:

Once it stops, you have successfully tamed the horse.

Step 6:

Once it is tamed, access its inventory and equip the saddle to its inventory.

Step 7:

Now you can ride it wherever you want and be faster
