After a global launch last evening, Samsung India has now begun taking pre-reserve for the Galaxy S22 series smartphones and Galaxy Tab S8 series tablets. There is a pre-reserve amount that buyers have to submit in order to reserve their Galaxy flagship when the first stocks hit the Indian market. Galaxy S22 goes up for pre-orders

Samsung India is yet to announce the prices for the Galaxy S22 series. In the US, the Galaxy S22 starts at $799 while the Galaxy S22 Plus starts at $999. The Galaxy S22 Ultra costs $1,199 for the base variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage.

Based on the US pricing, it seems that the Galaxy S22 Plus will take on Apple iPhone 13 in India while the Galaxy S22 could end up taking on the iPhone 13 Mini. Samsung is offering some notable upgrades this year over the outgoing Galaxy S21 series, with prominent ones being with its cameras and design. Samsung has also promised four Android OS upgrades over the phone's lifecycle and security patch support of up to five years.

The Galaxy S22 Ultra, on the other hand, is essentially a Galaxy Note device with its embedded S Pen silo, a similar squared off design, and all the top specifications Samsung could put inside its phone. Samsung is also promising better night time camera performance with its updated camera sensors and improved algorithms.
