Should you upgrade from iPhone 13 to iPhone 14? THIS is what we found out while comparing leaks
With the WWDC 2022 arriving, the excitement around Apple has begun building up again. And focus is not just on the potential iOS 16 but also on the iPhone 14! Ever since the beginning of the year, we have heard about multiple iPhone 14 rumors that told us about the design, hardwares and possible price for the upcoming Apple smartphones. And some of it has been a little underwhelming. But does that mean there is a greater value for you to stick with the iPhone 13 instead of upgrading it to the upcoming iPhone 14? We decided to take a look at the iPhone 14 leaks and rumors and compare them to what the iPhone 14 already offers to help you make a better and much more informed decision. iPhone 13 vs iPhone 14: Price comparison
According to TechRadar's report, the iPhone 14 might see a similar price to the iPhone 13. And one source, LeaksApplePro even went as far as claiming that the iPhone 14 will start at $799 bringing it on par with the iPhone 13. While this might make taking the plunge for the iPhone 14 an easier choice, do note that the launch of iPhone 14 will also bring down the price of the iPhone 13 resulting in it becoming a cheaper option. But there are other areas to consider before making a decision so let's take a look at them. However, some reports have said there will be big upgrades, especially in camera department, in iPhone 14 and this may cause hike in prices.
iPhone 14 vs iPhone 13: Design comparison
The latest leaks highlight that there will be a big design shift for the upcoming Apple smartphones, but only for the Pro-models. The iPhone 14 Pro and the iPhone 14 Pro Max are likely to ditch the notch in favor of a dual pill and hole cutouts. The iPhone 14, however, is likely to continue with the same design as the iPhone 13, according to rumors. So, if the rumors were to be believed, it would mean that the iPhone 13 and iPhone 14 are essentially similar looking smartphones with not much to distinguish them from each other. There will be newer colors for the iPhone 14 and there can be more tweaks to set it apart from its predecessor, but we do not have any information regarding the same, except that a new purple colour may make its appearance. iPhone 14 vs iPhone 13: Cameras
Just like the design and display, the iPhone 14 is likely to miss out on any new camera upgrades. There is a rumor that the Pro-models will get a 48MP camera, it is likely that the base model remains similar to the iPhone 13. However, not a lot is known about the iPhone 14 cameras, and there is always a possibility that they can get a bigger sensor or some internal changes to improve the quality of the images. But we will have to wait to find that out.
But there are rumors for a better front camera for the iPhone 14. Apple might be moving towards LG Innotek for its more expensive front cameras, which will definitely improve the quality of the selfies.
iPhone 14 vs iPhone 13: Performance
Sadly, the rumors suggest that the iPhone 14 may pack the Apple A15 Bionic chipset which also powers the iPhone 13 lineup. The new Apple A16 Bionic SoC is being kept only for the Pro-models, as per leaks. While that will definitely act as a limiter for the base model compared to the iPhone 13, it is not possible to say whether the power output would be the same. There is a likelihood that Apple can tweak the chipset or increase the clock speed. The difference it can make will need to be evaluated, however.
So that was most of all we know about the iPhone 14 and we hope it helped you understand the rumored differences between the two smartphones. But before you make any decision, do note that none of the information comes from the official sources and some or all of them can stand to be wrong once the iPhone 14 is finally unveiled. Having said that, these sources have proved to be right on many occasions over the years.
