Disney+ Hotstar is one of the most popular OTT platforms in India. As of now, it offers all its content in one free tier and two paid tiers. There is Disney+ Hotstar VIP plan that costs 399 annually and offers access to content from within the country along with HD quality video and Dolby 5.1 audio. The other is the Premium plan that costs 1,499 annually and offers access to all content along with 4K quality video, Dolby 5.1 audio, and the ability to stream content on two screens. Last month, we reported that Disney+ Hotstar was planning to upgrade its subscription by offering three plans instead of the existing two. We had also reported that these changes are expected to come into effect on September 1. Now, the company has formally started notifying all its subscribers about this change. It has also updated its website to reflect the change.
