Google Doodle today: It is the opening day of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, which is being hosted by Qatar this year. The tournament takes place every four years to attract football fans from all over the world, and this time, it is the first-ever World Cup to take place in a Middle East country. To mark this event, Google has launched its official animated Google Doodle for FIFA World Cup 2022, which shows two animated boots kicking a football. If you tap on the Doodle, it will take you to the World Cup Qatar 2022 page.

Starting from today, November 20, the football fest with the World Cup will go on till December 18. There are a total of 32 teams participating in FIFA World Cup 2022 and only one national team will be crowned the 2022 World Cup Champion by the end of the World Cup. The opening match of the World Cup will be between hosts Qatar and Ecuador at 9:30 pm IST.

Yes, you read that right! You can dive into the vibes of FIFA World Cup 2022. Google Doodle writes in a blog, “Want to get in on the action yourself? Google “world cup Qatar 2022” on your mobile device to compete with fans in our multiplayer online game. People from around the world can work together to help their favorite team score the most goals.”

How will it work? Once a real-life match is set in the FIFA World Cup schedule, it will pop up in the game menu too. You can pick the game and team that you want to support. This will let you work with other fans to score the most virtual Goals.

To make the match even more real, the virtual match will end at the same time when the final buzzer will ring in the real-life match, and the name of the winner will be announced.
