Google reveals what Indians searched for the most in August
As far as the interest for Independence Day is concerned, Google said that the but this year search interest for Independence Day soared to a new record high. The overall search interest soared to over 3,750%.
Google has shared some interesting insights as to what Indians searched for in the month of August. The list includes the search for Independence Day, Pranab Mukherjee and Covid-19 among others.
As per the details shared by Google, “Pakistan vs England” was the top trend in India during the month of August with a spike of over 5,000%. It was followed by the search for Pranab Mukherjee, which witnessed a spike of over 4,000%. The tech giant also noted that the Pakistani cricket team was among the top trending topics over the month, spiking over 3,400% and ranking second to Indian Independence Day.
As far as the interest for Independence Day is concerned, Google said that the but this year search interest for Independence Day soared to a new record high. The overall search interest soared to over 3,750%. It was the highest spiking topic of the month. The previous record peak was August 2018.

Apart from this, search interest for “Lebanon” also spiked over 2,100% in the month while “COVID-19prevention” surged by over 1,600%.
As far as Covid-19 is concerned, the search interest for “Amit Shah coronavirus” spiked over 4,100%, while the search interest for “Vaccine for corona latest” spiked over 150%. Interestingly, “Vaccine” remained the most searched topic alongside coronavirus in India in August. Additionally, search for “Sputnik” and “Sputnik vaccine” spiked by over 3,300% and over 2,750% respectively over the month. They were the top trending searches relating to vaccines.
