In the fight against novel coronavirus, India has administered more than 1 bn Covid-19 vaccines through a system that has been organised on a huge scale across the country. As millions of people are getting vaccinated daily, an abundance of data is being generated about the vaccination drive. However, as things gradually open up and lockdowns become a distant memory, with people increasingly stepping out of their homes, they need their Covid-19 vaccination certificate as a verifiable proof. This comes in handy while travelling, like while boarding a flight. And the best part is that you can download the Covid-19 vaccination certificate online.

However, when you go online, the complexity and the number of options available like Aarogya Setu, Umang App, Cowin portal and more, can be confusing.

However, we have simplified the process for you. You can do that and much more on the government-run Digilocker - you can keep, and access, your documents like Aadhaar Card, Driving License and even the Covid-19 vaccination certificate.

Process to download Covid-19 vaccination certificate from Digilocker

First, you need to have the Digilocker app in your mobile phone, which you can download from the Play store. Another way is to access the official website of DigiLocker - https://www.digilocker.gov.in/dashboard.

Now, log in the service by providing the credentials like Name, date of birth, gender, Security Pin, Mobile number, Aadhaar card number, and Email ID. Once you login then click on the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) under the Central government tab.

There, you will have to open 'Vaccine Certificate', click on it and enter your 13-digit Reference ID. Now you can download your Covid-19 vaccine certificate from here easily.

Other options to download the certificate

As mentioned earlier, there are different platforms to download your COVID-19 vaccine certificate, Umang app and Aarogya Setu. One of the credible sources is the Cowin portal, which was especially made for the Covid related information and registration of vaccines by the government.

To download the covid vaccine certificate from the Cowin portal, you first need to visit the official website cowin.gov.in. Then sign in and login using your registered mobile number. Following that, an OTP will be sent on your mobile number, put that OTP in the required option.

Once you successfully login, you will have the information about your first and second dose of vaccination in front of you. Under your name, go to the 'Certificate' tab, and click on the 'Download' button and you will have your certificate in PDF format.
