HTC has finally announced a launch date for its upcoming flagship of the year -- the HTC 10. Taiwanese manufacturer on Tuesday started sending media invites for an event on April 12, which will be a virtual event that will be live streamed on the Internet. The event starts 8am in New York, 1pm in London and 8pm in HTC's domestic market of Taipei.

Rumours of the upcoming device have been pouring in on a constant basis. Based on early leaks, the smartphone is expected to get a 5.15-inch Super LCD display with 2K pixel resolution display. HTC 10 will reportedly be powered by a Snapdragon 820 processor bundled with 4 GB of RAM. It is expected to get 32 GB of built in storage with an expandable microSD slot. Juicing up the smartphone is expected to be a 3,000 mAh battery.

The Taiwanese manufacturer has also been bragging about the upcoming smartphone's camera capabilities, which will reportedly be a 12-UltraPixel camera. The company claims that the HTC 10 will sport "World First, World Class" front and back cameras".
HTC will stream the media event on their website as well. The company has been using the hashtag - #powerof10 - to promote the launch.
