Instagram down? Many users complain about mobile app and website outage
Instagram down questions are flooding social media today. However, not all users appear to be affected – here’s what you need to know.
Instagram down reports have been appearing across various social media channels including Twitter, with many users claiming they are unable to open the mobile app or access the website. According to website downtime tracker Downdetector.in, as many as over 3,000 users were reporting downtime for Instagram app and the website about an hour ago. However, not all users appear to be affected, as some have posted the service is working for them. Similarly, we were able to open the Instagram app and had no issues. So, Instagram outage could be an issue affecting some accounts only or regions.
At around 11 AM today, Downdetector detected a small spike in users reporting the 'Instagram down' issue. However, Instagram outage issues appeared to have been resolved quickly as the graph sharply fell down within 20 minutes. At around 11:23 AM, a large spike in reports occurred, with over two three thousand users reporting downtime. At 12:39, there were 3,357 users unable to use the Instagram service. There were several reports on Twitter as well, claiming that they do not have access to Instagram on the web or on the app.

At the time of writing this report, the graph showing user reports had fallen sharply again, but there were still over a thousand users reporting that they were unable to access the service. Out of these, 47 percent were reporting Instagram outage on the app, 27 percent said they could not access the website and 26 percent were facing server connection issues.
While users might try uninstalling and reinstalling the Instagram app or resetting their networks in order to get access, these are unlikely to work as many other users are reporting issues about accessing the service. However, the company has not yet issued any statement over Instagram outage. We will update this story if one is provided.
