The company's G Pad line, which existed as a single 8.3-inch tablet back in September, is swelling to four models, each with a different display size.

Last autumn, LG kicked off a big advertising campaign focusing on the G Pad ahead of its official reveal at the IFA, and the fact that at 8.3 inches, its screen was 'just right'.

Its special size meant that it was optimized for single-handed use, for the daily commute or relaxing at home with a movie.

However, it would appear that when it comes to tablets, one size does not fit all and LG is now launching a 7-inch, an 8-inch and a 10.1-inch version of the G Pad too.
'Customers tell us that they want a wider range of devices that offer sizable screens without compromising portability,' said Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of the LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. 'Unlike smartphones, tablets are not one size fits all. So we designed the G Pad Series for a diverse target audience, some who prioritize portability while others want the best multimedia experience possible. G Pad delivers on all counts.'

The new tablets will feature LG's Knock Code feature, which means that authentication is taken care of by tapping on them with your secret knock rather than typing in a password or drawing a pattern.

They also sync wirelessly with Android smartphones so that users will be able to get call and text notifications on their tablet screens and respond to messages directly, rather than via their handset.

The extended range of LG G Pads will make their official debut during this week's MedPI 2014 IT and Tech trade shows, which runs May 13-16 in Monaco, where pricing and internal specifications will also be revealed.
