OnePlus 3, OnePlus 3T get OnePlus 5T’s ‘Face Unlock’ feature in latest OxygenOS update
This update is currently in beta mode.

OnePlus's latest Open Beta 30 update to its OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T brings the 'Face Unlock' feature that lets you unlock the phone by looking at it. The feature, which debuted with OnePlus 5T, was recently made available to OnePlus 5 through a software update.
Unlike iPhone X, OnePlus 5T doesn't come with any special sensor on the front camera to enable Face Unlock. Instead, OnePlus 5T uses over 100 unique identifiers for facial recognition. The company categorically says that its Face Unlock isn't "100% secure" and shouldn't be used as the only biometric authentication tool.
In the latest OxygenOS open beta builds, OnePlus simply mentions "Face Unlock function added" in the forum.
If you're interested in trying out this feature on your OnePlus 3 or OnePlus 3T, you can do so by flashing your device and downloading the full ROM here. For those who are already running on Open Beta will receive this update as an OTA.
Apart from Face Unlock, the latest beta update brings more new features to OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T. OnePlus launcher has been updated to v2.3, and new categories have been added to the drawer. More updates include auto folder tagging, dynamic clock icon, and notification dot optimisation.
System updates for OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T include support for Airtel VoLTE connectivity in India. This would depend only on areas where Airtel's VoLTE network is available. OnePlus has also added its 'Switch' app which will allow users to store their information for easier transfer to a new OnePlus device.
