Poco is going to launch a new device in India soon: All we know so far

The new device that Poco has been teasing on Twitter might be the Poco F2 Pro or the Poco M2 Pro smartphone. This is going to be Poco's second device to be launched in India this year

While there are no straightforward hints about what this new device is going to be, speculations are rife that it might be a new smartphone. It might be the Poco F2 Pro that was launched in Europe in May (photo above) or it could be a phone we have not seen before at all, the Poco M2 Pro. (Mi.com)

Poco's new device for India, the second this year, might be a smartphone. The company mentioned in a video it tweeted today that the new device is launching soon, but revealed no other details.

The video is a montage of shots that celebrates the company's ‘dedication' to the country, and it makes sense given the current anti-China sentiment that is plaguing the nation, and to the ‘Make in India' initiative.

Poco has also been running a campaign called #POCOForIndia on Twitter.

Although the existence of the Poco M2 Pro is not ‘official', the device got its Bluetooth SIG and WiFi Alliance certifications recently. According to GSMArena, the SIG listing revealed that the Poco M2 Pro comes with MIUI 11 and Bluetooth 5.0. The website points out that the declaration ID of the phone is the same as one of the Redmi Note 9 phones.

On the Wi-Fi Alliance, the listing shows the phone running on Android 10 and confirms the Poco M2 Pro. The phone is also seen running dual-band Wi-Fi. GSMArena highlights that the “gram” kernel source is same as the Redmi Note 9 Pro. This has led to speculations Poco M2 Pro could be a rebranded Redmi Note 9 Pro. We'll have to wait and watch.

Besides a smartphone we know the Poco Pop Buds are coming soon, but the general manager of Poco C Manmohan tweeted that there was another audio product they have been planning. He gave no more hints.
