While Google has Glass, Recon Instruments just launched its own wearable computer for sport lovers at San Francisco's Google I/O on Wednesday. The Recon Jet HUD (heads up display) sunglasses track fitness activity, showing your health performance via an integrated microdisplay, while also streaming music and video.

Inside you'll find a dualcore processor, WiFi, Bluetooth, and GPS, along with ANT+ fitness connectivity. Plus the glasses are packed with data-tracking sensors, such as an accelerometer, a gyroscope, an altimeter, a magnetometer, and a thermometer, while also including an HD camera. While Recon typically targets alpine sports enthusiasts with its HUD line, the techy Jet shades are geared for runners, cyclists, and serious athletes as well.

The glasses are a bit bulkier than the average pair of sports sunglasses and weigh in at 60 grams, making them heavier than Google Glass. But Wired magazine writes that the weight is balanced with the battery on the left side and the electronics and display on the right, making them feel comfortable.

The device could also be used as a remote display for apps on your phone, but blog Slashgear writes that the company is working with top fitness companies and communities to create new products in time for the launch, later this year. Pricing and specific launch date are not yet confirmed, but consumers can likely expect the pricetag to be in line with Recon's other products, around $300 and $400.
