Samsung has revealed the launch date for its next phablet flagship in the Note series. Also, the successor to Galaxy Note 5 will be called the Galaxy Note 7 and be unveiled on August 2, as reported previously.
"With added functionality of the S Pen and large screen, the Galaxy Note7 is a powerful instrument for achievement and self-expression, and is made for those who want to get the most from their phones - and their lives. Galaxy Note7 will help people do more in work, at home and everywhere in between. We can't wait to tell you more about it!
First and foremost though, you might be curious as to why it's called Galaxy Note7 instead of Galaxy Note6. There are a couple reasons why. First, the Galaxy Note7 will complement our Galaxy S7 and S7 edge, and unify our product portfolio. Second, the Galaxy Note7 will minimize confusion about the latest mobile technology from Samsung, and provide full alignment with Galaxy S smartphone," said Samsung in a press release.
The Note 7 is set to launch the Samsung Galaxy S7 at their Unpacked event on 11:00 AM in New York on August 2, 2016.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is expected to sport an iris scanner that will let you unlock the smartphone by scanning your eyes. It is most likely to run a revamped UI from Samsung based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow; charge via USB Type-C port, sport a 6-inch QHD Super Amoled dual-edge display and 4GB of RAM. The Galaxy Note 7 is rumoured to sport a 12-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front camera, and a 3,600 mAh battery among other super-sized features.
