Sony has informed users that it has introduced PlayStation 5 free game trials. This will allow gamers to play two games for free for a fixed number of hours, according to a new report. The games will be fully accessible to PS5 gamers during this period, which will reportedly extend to the end of October and gamers are now receiving notifications about trying out popular games from PlayStation Studios.
According to a report by Video Games Chronicle, Sony has sent emails to PlayStation 5 users informing them that Death Stranding: Directors Cut and Sackboy: A Big Adventure will be available for users to download as a free game trial during October. This means that gamers who download the games will be able to play them during October for a limited time, after which they can choose to purchase the game and continue playing. The report also states that any DLCs purchased during the trial will only be playable if the full game is purchased after the trial ends.

Gamers who want to download Death Stranding: Directors Cut and Sackboy: A Big Adventure on their PlayStation 5 consoles can do so now, until October 28. The trial for Death Stranding: Directors Cut will be six hours, while Sackboy: A Big Adventure will be for five hours, according to the report. These free trials will begin from the time players start downloading the game, according to the report.
This means that those gamers who have faster internet connections will be able to play the game longer than those with slower speeds. While this might sound unfair to some users, the report also suggests that Sony might be working on adding PS5 games to the PlayStation Now streaming service for games. This will mean that users will experience less friction while downloading games in the future, especially when one considers the possibility of connection issues that could cut down the free trial time even further.
