Samsung has already launched their second foldable smartphone while Motorola’s second iteration of the Motorola Razr with the foldable screen has also been confirmed. Huawei is working on a new foldable smartphone as well. In all this, it’s hard to believe that Apple has no plans to develop a foldable smartphone.
And it seems like they are.
According to a report in Gizmochina, Apple is working on a foldable iPhone and the device is in its prototype stage. Besides this, there is not much known about it.

Apple has reportedly ordered samples from Samsung to work on the foldable. This bit of news is not surprising since Samsung has been a key supplier of OLED display panels for iPhones for years now. The report states that Samsung Display is hoping to dominate the market by increasing its production capacity to 10 million units a year.
The foldable iPhone is reportedly going to be designed to look like a single continuous display and not appear like two separate display panels.

Some reports state that this foldable iPhone could be launched by next year and that remains to be seen. Currently, Apple is gearing up to launch its iPhone 12 series that will come with their first 5G models.
Apple is going to launch four iPhone models this year with varying screen sizes and features. Only the top-end iPhone 12 Pro Max is reportedly going to support the fastest 5G speeds.
