iPhone 14 production line dismantled! Reason is iPhone 14 Pro, Pro Max

iPhone 14 production will be affected going forward and that is not an issue for Apple! Ever since the iPhone 14 series debuted in early September, the reception has been mixed and quite opposite to Apple’s expectations. Instead of the affordable iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus, buyers are flocking into the stores to get the more expensive iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. The demand is such that the waiting period has extended to weeks and Apple is unable to meet the demand. As a result, it has taken a drastic step.

In less than a month of its launch, Apple has cut production on the iPhone 14 lineup. Based on a new report from ITHome, it is said that Foxconn’s Zhengzhou plant has dismantled five assembly lines of the iPhone 14. Instead, Apple has asked Foxconn to bump up the production of the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, which is seeing an increased demand this year. It is now known whether the dismantling also happens for the iPhone 14 Plus, which is yet to go on sale.

iPhone 14 axed for iPhone 14 Pro!

The report coincides with the earlier revelations by Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who said that iPhone 14 production lines will be converted to iPhone 14 Pro production line in order to meet the demand. He also said that the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max accounted for up to 65 percent of total iPhone 14 series shipments this year.

Does that mean the iPhone 14 is a flop show?

We don’t think so. The earlier demand for iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max seemingly comes from the early adopters who are willing to spend more on the new features introduced on the Pro variants this year. The iPhone 14 Pro models ditch the notch finally and go for a cutesy Dynamic Island implementation. The Pro models also get a 48MP main camera with improved low light photography, a new selfie camera with autofocus, a new Purple colour, and most importantly, the Apple A16 Bionic chip.

The iPhone 14, on the other hand, is largely a beefed up iPhone 13, using the same A15 Bionic chip, same design and display, a new main rear camera sensor, and the 12MP autofocus selfie camera.
