Nothing Phone (1) could only have a 33W charging solution (Nothing)

Yes, you read that right. After all the hype surrounding the Nothing Phone (1), it is now said that Carl Pei's seems to have settled for a very slow charging solution for the Nothing Phone (1). The device has been long rumoured to get a fast 45W charging solution but new documents now confirm that this could only be limited to the charger specifications. The phone itself could actually have a slow 33W charging system, which is not so fast by today's standards. After all, brands like Xiaomi and iQOO are offering 120W charging on their midrange phones.

The leak data obtained by tipster Mukul Sharma suggests that Phone (1) will likely support 33W charging. The charger that Nothing would sell separately could support up to 45W of charging. Again, Nothing is yet to confirm anything and we would need to wait for all the details that will be revealed on July 12.

Nothing Phone (1) to not have very fast charging

A 33W wired charging system isn't exactly fast by today's standards, as most entry-level phones from Xiaomi and Realme feature this. Considering that the Nothing Phone (1) could have a 4500mAh battery, the phone could take at least an hour or so to fully recharge its batteries. Wireless charging has also been confirmed from the renders.

The charging solution, however, could most likely be on par with most of the competition. Apple still uses the 20W charging solution for all its iPhones whereas Samsung defaults to the 25W charging for all its Galaxy A devices. Even Motorola offers a 30W solution for the Edge 30, which uses the exact same Snapdragon 778G+ chip. Only Xiaomi uses as standard 67W charging and Realme uses the older 65W charging on their midrange phones.

The Nothing Phone (1) is turning out to be a fancy midrange Android phone instead of a high-end flagship. The phone is expected to feature a 6.5-inch FHD+ OLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz and an under-display fingerprint sensor. The phone will be powered by the Snapdragon 778G+ chip and could have up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. The phone is also said to come with a 4500mAH battery and support wireless charging. Nothing has shown off the Glyph interface in detail, which is simply a glorified system of notification lights.
