Google Duo group call lets you invite anyone with a link

Google introduced a new functionality to its video calling platform, Duo, that enables users to invite other users to a group video call simply by using a link. Now, the company has started rolling out the feature to its Google Duo app.

According to a report by Android Police, Google has finally started releasing the feature onto the Google Duo app. This functionality is available in version 89 and version 91 of the Duo app as a server-side update, which means that the feature will be automatically updated in the app.

To invite friends or family members in a group video call on Duo via a link, users will first have to create a group by adding at least one member. On doing so, they will see an invite link in the middle of their Google Duo app screens, which will be accompanied by a button to copy the link and another to share the link. On tapping on the copy button, users will be able to share the link with their friends and family over other apps. On the other hand, tapping on the share button will invite other users over Duo’s platform.

Once users click on the link, they will be directed to Duo where they will be able to see the group members before they join using the Join Group button on their screens. Alternatively, users can invite other users while they are already on a call by tapping on three dots on the bottom right corner of the screen and then tapping on the Share Link button to share it with another user.

It is worth noting that this feature is currently available only on Duo’s mobile-based app.
