As a Twitter user, you have stumbled upon a tweet or tweet thread that you wanted to view later but lost it amidst the endless streaming of tweets. For all such frustrated Twitter users, there is soon going to be a fix.
The company's product manager, Jesar Shah, recently announced an upcoming feature called "Save for Later", which will let you create a private collection of saved tweets that you can access later. The idea originated during Twitter's Hack Week and is currently under development. But an early prototype of how this would work has been shared. This was a highly request feature and is expected to be available in the coming months.
You click on the ellipsis icon under the tweet, which leads to the "Add to Bookmarks" menu option. Bookmarked tweets can be viewed under a separate "Bookmarks" folder. Currently, people follow a longer process of bookmarking tweets by liking, retweeting, or DM-ing tweets to themselves. Adding tweets to your "Liked" tab also makes it accessible to everyone. But this new feature is private and can only be accessed by you. It helps reduce the spam in your followers' feeds, or lets you favorite a tweet without everyone knowing about it.
