After Samsung, Garmin trolls Apple for Watch Ultra! See what it says

Apple launches something new and it is expected of someone to troll the Cupertino firm for its questionable choices. Samsung’s advertising team has been busy finding flaws in the iPhone 14 and making troll adverts based on them. But just when you had enough of the cringe ads from Samsung, Garmin jumps in to take a dig at the Apple Watch Ultra. It has been evident that the Apple Watch Ultra exists to take on the likes of the Garmin sports smartwatches and the company has broken its silence.

Unlike Samsung though, Garmin doesn’t overdo on the cringe part. In one of its recent tweets to promote its Enduro 2 smartwatch, Garmin wrote, “We measure battery life in months, not hours. #Enduro2”. This is a brilliant way to take a dig at your rivals all while promoting your latest product. Garmin’s watches have been known to do all the adventure tracking stuff without compromising on the battery life.

The watch promoted here is the Garmin Enduro 2, which promises up to 150 hours of battery life in the GPS tracking mode. In the regular smartwatch mode, Garmin says you can get up to 34 days of battery life. 34 days isn’t exactly “months” but compared to the Apple Watch Ultra, it is definitely superior. The Enduro 2 achieves this with its 1.4-inch solar powered display.

However, the Apple Watch Ultra has other advantages that the Garmin Enduro 2 can’t. For one, the Apple Watch Ultra has a bigger 2-inch display compared to the 1.4-inch display on the Garmin. The Apple Watch Ultra also promises up to 2000 nits of peak brightness as well. Plus, it can wade into the deep ocean depths as well as endure extreme temperatures.

Along with all that, the Apple Watch Ultra can track your body temperature, ECG, heart rate and blood oxygen saturation monitoring. You can get Apple’s nicely optimised and designed watchOS 9, which lets you customise your watch faces as well get access to specific watch designed apps.

More than that, it is the price. The Apple Watch Ultra is quite expensive at Rs. 89,900 in India and it only comes in a single 49mm variant but compared to the Garmin Enduro 2’s $1,099, it is comparatively more affordable. Maybe that’s where Apple can have the last laugh?
