Lenovo launches a new AR glass, ThinkReality A3 and it’s not for most of us

What makes this last even more interesting is that the PC Edition of ThinkReality A3 can be plugged into the system and can provide a virtual monitor experience. And it can support up to five of them.

Lenovo is boosting its presence in the augmented reality segment as it has launched a new pair of lightweight AR glasses called ThinkReality A3 at CES 2021. Available only for enterprise customers, these glasses can connect it to your PC or a Motorola smartphone via a USB type-C cable. ThinkReality A3 is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon XR1 chipset and has 1080p stereoscopic displays for each lens. 

In addition, it has two fisheye cameras for tracking and mapping the room around you. What's more is that you get an 8-megapixel 1080p camera pleased on the nose tip to stream what you are watching.

You can watch your existing applications on these virtual monitors, without taking a space in real life. Lenovo says that you can fold these glasses like any of the sunglasses, or use the carrying case, which is supplied along with the device.

Besides the PC Edition, you get the Industrial Edition of A3 using which you can tether the headset to select Motorola smartphones to perform your tasks in AR. This is said to be for factory floor or manufacturing line workers.

Lenovo's newest piece of hardware comes as a competition to others in the same segment, such as Microsoft and Google. However, the firm sees this as the right time to make its presence felt in the market. It has been mentioned that the company might ship this hardware by mid-2021. The pricing, however, has not been revealed.
