Fossil Gen 6 smartwatches launched with Snapdragon 4100+, Wear OS 3 compatibility

Fossil has just launched its newest generation of its wearables, the Fossil Gen 6 touchscreen smartwatches in India today. The Gen 6 smartwatch is going to be will be the first smartwatch to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 4100+ platform, which promises users “faster application load times, highly responsive user experiences, and more efficient power consumption”. Also, the new Fossil smartwatches support two times faster battery charging speeds with the wearables reaching 80% charge in just 30 minutes.

Fossil Gen 6 price: Smartwatches are priced starting from ₹23,995 onwards and will be available for purchase in India from September 27 onwards from fossil.in, Amazon, and some select offline retailers. You can pre-book the Gen 6 smartwatches from September 25 onwards.

Fossil Gen 6 benefits: Along with this, the Fossil smartwatches bring in continuous heart rate tracking, a new SpO2 sensor, speaker functionality to make and receive tethered calls, smart battery modes and more. The new Gen 6 is going to be compatible with Google’s new system update, Wear OS 3, which was announced earlier this year and the Fossil smartwatches will be eligible for the Wear OS 3 system update in 2022.

Fossil Gen 6 colours: The new Fossil Gen 6 smartwatches are launching in four colorways in a 44mm case and in three colorways in a 42mm case for added size options. In addition to offering seven styles and a whole lot of interchangeable strap options, users can also customise dials and buttons.

Fossil Gen 6 battery: The new smartwatches support increased battery charging speed and smart battery modes. There is also a feature that supports more than 24 hours of battery life, based on usage, or multiple days called the Extended Battery Mode. This also helps with sleep tracking on the device.

Fossil Gen 6 - other specs: These smartwatches come with a swim-proof speaker and mic and are swim-proof up to 3 ATM. Connectivity options on the Fossil Gen 6 smartwatches include Bluetooth 5.0 LE, WiFi, GPS, and NFC SE. The sensors onboard the new Fossil smartwatches are - accelerometer, gyroscope, compass, altimeter, PPG Heart Rate, SpO2, Off-body IR, and Ambient Light. The smartwatches come with Google Assistant support, 8GB of storage, and 1GB of RAM. The smartwatches are compatible with Android and iOS both.
