Gionee smartwatches launched in India; prices start at ₹2,099

Smartwatches have become virtually ubiquitous. Among the youngsters it has become a rage indeed. For others, in these fraught times when health is the most important thing to protect, it is the features on offer that decide what smartwatch they opt for. However, smartwatches are generally pricey, but Gionee is one of the companies that have set out to change that a little. The company has launched a budget smartwatch series in India. The newly launched STYLFIT smartwatch series consists of three smartwatches. The Gionee STYLFIT GSW7 is available in India at a launch price of ₹2,099, while the STYLFIT GSW6 is available in India at a starting price of ₹6,999. The third model, STYLFIT GSW8, is available in India at a launch price of ₹8,999.

However, Gionee hasn’t revealed the availability of its newly launched smartwatches. But the company did say that its STYLFIT smartwatches will be available in India ‘soon’.

As far as the features are concerned, the STYLFIT GSW6 comes with a built-in speaker and a microphone that is aimed at helping users make calls easily. It has Bluetooth 5.0 for connectivity, which the company says allows users to remotely control calling functionality, music and even the camera for clicking selfies using smartphones. It also offers over 40 cloud-based watch faces.

Additionally, the STYLFIT GSW6 comes with an SPO2 sensor for measuring blood oxygen saturation level in real-time. It also comes with a heart rate monitor, a sleep monitor, a pedometer, and a calorie counter. The newly launched GSW6 smartwatch is powered by a 220mAh lithium polymer battery, which Gionee says is capable of offering a battery life of up to 5 days and a standby time of up to 15 days.

The STYL GSW7 smartwatch, on the other hand, comes with a fitness mode, with both indoor and outdoor exercise options. It has a SpO2 monitor and heart rate monitor along with Bluetooth connectivity that can be used for calling, controlling music and clicking selfies. In addition to these features, the Gionee STYL GSW7 is also capable of checking SMS, WhatsApp, Facebook and email notifications. It is compatible with Android Version 4.4 or above and iOS version 9.0 or above and it will go on sale via Flipkart starting June 13.

Lastly, the STYLFIT GSW8 smartwatch. It comes with a built-in speaker and a microphone to talk through the watch when you get a phone call. Users can control music, make calls and click selfies using this smartwatch. It also comes with a heart rate monitor, a menstrual cycle tracker, a sleep monitor, a pedometer, and a calorie counter among other things. It also has a Find My Phone feature that can be used for searching your phone.

Gionee says that this watch also supports multi-sport modes such as outdoor run, outdoor walk, indoor run, indoor walk, hiking, stair stepper, outdoor cycle, stationary bike, elliptical, and rowing machine among other things. It also offers a gravity sensor to monitor activities with greater accuracy. The STYL GSW8 smartwatch comes with a 300mAh lithium polymer battery that offers up to 7 days of battery life. It comes in a premium leather and silicon strap variant and is available in Sienna Brown and Eclipse Black colour variants.

So, between the three smartwatches, STYLFIT GSW7, STYLFIT GSW6 and STYLFIT GSW8, Gionee s looking to appeal to a large section of the buyers in this market segment who are looking to get their money's worth.
