Huami Amazfit BIP S smartwatch launched in India, priced at ₹4,999

Huami on Wednesday launched its Amazfit Bip S smartwatch in India. The Xiaomi-backed company had first unveiled the smartwatch at CES 2020 earlier this year.

Huami Amazfit Bip S comes with an affordable price tag of ₹4,999. The new smartwatch can be purchased via offline and online channels like Amazon India, Flipkart, Crome and Reliance Digital. The smartwatch comes in four colour options of ‘Red Orange’, ‘Warm Pink’, ‘White Rock’ and ‘Carbon Black’.

The Amazfit Bip S like its sibling smartwatch looks like the Apple Watch in terms of design. It comes in a polycarbonate body with a silicone strap. There’s a rotating button on the side as well. The smartwatch features a 1.28-inch TFT Always-on display with a 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 3 layered on top.

It has a 200mAh battery which is said to last for 15 days on typical usage, and 40 days on basic usage. The smartwatch takes about 2.5 hours to charge, Huami said. On the software front it runs Amazfit OS, and it’s compatible with iOS and Android.

The smartwatch is also equipped with a bio-tracking optical sensor, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS + GLONASS, and 5ATM rating for water resistance. The Amazfit Bip S also offers 10 sports modes like treadmill, outdoor running, walking, indoor cycling, and open water. It also supports sleep tracking, heart rate monitoring and music playback control.

Huami’s latest smartwatch competes with the recently launched Realme Watch which costs ₹3,999. The Realme Watch however doesn’t have a built-in GPS.
