Sony WF-1000XM4 earbuds: Here's the first-ever leaked image

Following its previous timeline of launching the flagship headphones first, followed by earbuds, Sony seems to be right on track for the launch of 1000XM4 earbuds as well. The company has not confirmed anything about the audio product yet but a leaked image on Reddit now shows us the packing box of WF-1000XM4 earbuds. And this time, there seems to be a radical change in terms of design.

Although we saw the WH-1000XM4 sporting the same look as its predecessor, in the case of earbuds, there might be a change. The leaked image of the box shows the earbuds in a more compact size, appearing similar to the likes of Samsung’s latest Galaxy Buds or a bit smaller than Sony’s own WF-XB700. The bud is seen in Sony’s iconic WF colour - Black with Gold accent and a new memory foam ear tips.

In our WF-1000XM3 review, we did complain about the size of the earbuds, which seems old and is not as compact as the new-gen earbuds out there. But if the leaked images are anything to go by, we might be getting good ANC, battery and other features, all inside a more compact product. We also hope the company brings IP rating water resistance this time, since it already has it in other earbuds but not 1000XM3.

Sony has not even started teasing the earbuds anywhere so it is difficult to say when we will witness the official launch.It is worth adding that Sony launched its WF-1000XM3 earbuds in India back in August last year.
