Moto Watch 100 announced! More affordable than Wear OS watches

Moto Watch 100 has been made official globally. This is the most affordable smartwatch from Motorola that runs on a proprietary OS. Here are all details.

The Moto Watch 100 is now official! Motorola's much-anticipated budget smartwatch is here and there are a couple of unexpected features in this one. The price is certainly one of them, which is $99.99 (approx. 7,400); this puts in the same category as Amazfit GTR 2e and Xiaomi's Mi Watch Revolve Active. India availability is still unknown though.

The Moto Watch is Motorola's first smartwatch that does not run on Google's Wear OS platform. Instead, it uses a proprietary OS called Moto OS that claims to offer more health features and much better battery life. It is currently available in Glacier Silver and Phantom Black colours, and will go on sale from December 10 in the US.

Since it does not run on Wear OS, the Moto Watch 100 is compatible with both Android and iOS devices. Coupled with the 355mAh battery, the Moto Watch 100 is claimed to last up to 14 days on a single charge. Additionally, it takes an hour to fully recharge the battery.

Motorola is offering a 1.3-inch LCD display with a resolution of 360 x 360 pixels, and is surrounded by an all-Aluminum case. The watch has two buttons for operating and touchscreen input. The device has an accelerometer, gyroscope, heart rate monitor, and an SpO2 sensor. All of that is packed in a 5ATM water resistant body.

When it comes to fitness tracking, the Moto Watch 100 can track up to 26 sports modes. You can also monitor heart rate, sleep tracking, step counting, blood oxygen saturation monitoring, and more. The watch syncs all the health data and stats with its companion app. You get it as standard with a 20mm replaceable strap.

Motorola is yet to announce its plans for the Moto watch 100 for India and global markets. Given that the wearable market has seen a lot of activity in the affordable sub- 10,000 space, the Moto Watch could another nice addition to the numerous options already available for purchase.
