Over the last few years, audio technology has taken a leap, not just in the area of premium but the budget segment. And when audio products are going truly wireless with all possible features that they can pack, the neckbands still have their own audience who want the same features, and quality of sound at an affordable price. And I think, a brand under the Realme TechLife ecosystem, Dizo has cracked this formula while bringing smart features-enriched audio products at a pocket-friendly price. In such efforts, Dizo has now added another option to buyers with the Wireless Dash neckband - better battery life, fast charging, prettier design, and a lot of features for customised audio experiences - is what defines it. But keeping in mind the sub-2000 price segment, does it make a good deal for your audio-bliss? I had doubts a few weeks before, but now this is what I have found about the Dizo Wireless Dash neckband.
Over the years, the neckbands have seen major upgrades in terms of smart features and audio quality, but design elements almost followed more or less the same trend. But Dizo has chosen to take a break from the monotonous designs and added some texture to the Wireless Dash neckband.
And it actually looks unique in front of the other plain neckbands available in the market. Having said that, the build quality of the plastic body could be better as it right now feels cheap. While, the neckband solves its purpose with the comfortable and flexible band, that feels light and easy to carry around your neck even for long hours of usage. Well, take a look beyond the neckband quality and the snuggly fitted earbuds with silicone tips make the experience enjoyable. Plus, these are magnetically connected carrying several smart features for you!
This neckband may not sound great for audiophiles! But as soon as you realise that it costs just Rs. 1,599, the audio quality manages to bring a satisfying listening experience with an 11.2mm dynamic driver and 5.2 Bluetooth connectivity. From listening to classical music to party pop or Bollywood, Dizo Wireless Dash sounds worthy for your day-to-day music listening sessions. Though the audio quality at lows sounds flat and at highs, it feels lacking clear -- Something that most budget audio products struggle with. I enjoyed my daily music sessions at around 60-80 volume which does justice to the music.
It also comes with a low-latency mode for gaming which works ‘just’ fine. While taking calls, the neckband manages to cut out the surrounding noise and have better communication. Well, to make the audio experience better, especially if you are more into bass-worthy music, I would suggest switching to Bass Boost+ modes via the app and you will definitely find the difference. Oh yes, app..!
Yes, so you get the app support with the Dizo Wireless Dash Neckband, which doesn’t just allow you to change modes according to the music from ‘Balanced’, ‘Bass Boost’ to ‘Bright’ but also gives you an option for customised button settings. The plastic body which carries three buttons, essentially for play/pause, volume up, and volume down can actually be controlled according to you via the Realme Link app.
Well, this also features an option to auto-answer calls just by separating the magnetic earbuds. These magnetic ends just make the experience of the neckband smooth and effortless! Detaching these earbuds can connect with the device within no time while connecting again can help to auto-pause the music playing with the device. Just like that!
This is the area where Dizo Wireless Dash Neckband shines out the most! The company claims that the neckband offers around 30 hours of playback time. And it almost does! For heavy users like me, this neckband just makes a perfect fit. I could easily play music, get on the audio or video calls, and enjoy videos for 5-6 days on the daily average usage of 4-5 hours. And the best part, you can juice it up from null point in just 30-35 minutes with a USB-C type cable. Even 10-15 minutes of charging can charge it up to 50 percent which is enough to keep enjoying another 10-11 hours of music streaming.
The Dizo Wireless Dash neckband is for someone who is looking for day-to-day casual listening sessions with clarity over a wide range of soundstages. Not just that, it manages to bring app support to make the audio experience and button controls more customised. Plus, long battery life and fast charging are like cherry on the top. And of course, its comfortable fit and Dizo’s styling to spice up the boring design of neckband make it a worthy deal at Rs. 1,599.
But a handful of missing features and flaws may make you look elsewhere! Distortion at maximum volume and low build quality of plastic used here make the overall experience a bit sour! And, ANC is something that the Wireless Dash neckband has missed even when several other audio brands such as JBL, Xiaomi, Realme, and more are providing the same at this price. Having said that, the battery life and fast charging along with ample amount of features and decent audio quality make Dizo Wireless Dash Neckband a good deal under Rs. 2000.
