Minecraft 1.19 Pre-release 1 is here; The Wild update is not far now; check what’s new in the update
Minecraft 1.19 pre-release 1 has marked the switch from snapshots to pre-releases for The Wild update. Check everything that’s new in the update and how to download it.
There is exciting news for Minecraft fans. Mojang, the publisher of the popular online sandbox game, rolled out the Minecraft 1.19 Pre-release 1 update yesterday, May 19. While this update has largely focused on fixing bugs and making changes, the launch of the first pre-release itself is big news. This is because it means now the release of the major summer update The Wild is not too far. Mojang always begins with snapshots to build up for a major update where it lets players interact with the new additions to the game and give feedback. Using a movie analogy, snapshots are like teasers of a movie. Pre-release, similarly, would be an official trailer, which means the final release is very near. Although we do not have a confirmed date for The Wild, it has been rumored that it will be released somewhere near July. But if you want to know what's new in the Pre-release 1 and how to download it, read on.
What's new in the Minecraft 1.19 Pre-release 1
The first pre-release of 1.19: The Wild Update is here. Mojang rolled out the update with a small message stating that from now on, the updates will focus mostly on bug fixes. Further, unlike Snapshots which were released every Wednesday, pre-releases will not follow a fixed pattern. With that being said, let us check out what players are getting in the new update.
There are some significant changes in the Minecraft 1.19 Pre-release 1.
1. The number of the Mangrove trees in the Mangrove swamp has been reduced.
2. Endermen, Skeletons, Wither Skeletons, and Piglins now spawn in a wider range of light levels in the Nether (from light level 0 to 11)
3. Item interaction vibrations are now emitted when you start or finish "using" an item with a start and finish state (such as Bows, Crossbows, Goat Horns, Shields, Food)
4. Item interaction vibrations are now ignored when sneaking
5. Placing items that aren't armor (such as Pumpkins and Skulls) in your headwear slot now plays a generic equip sound
Apart from these, there are some notable technical changes as well. These include:
1. Auto-completion is now available for the template argument to place template
2. Custom servers can now enable or disable chat preview for certain clients by sending a new network packet
3. Now, a chat preview is also shown for chat-related commands, such as /say and /msg
4. test-rainbow-chat has been removed from server.properties
Multiple bugs were also fixed in this update.
How to download Minecraft 1.19 Pre-release 1
Go to the official game launcher.
Open the drop-down menu right next to the ‘Play’ button.

Create a new world to test out the new features. Do not do it in an existing world because if the file is incompatible, it will corrupt your existing game.
