Apple iPhones are among the most popular smartphones in the world. In fact, nearly 50 percent of the US population is using them. To keep these iPhones as current as possible, Apple pushes out new iOS versions on a yearly basis to improve user experience, fix bugs and add new and exciting features. Apple's next iOS version is iOS 17 and it is expected to be announced at Apple's annual Worldwide Developers Conference, which will likely be held in June, 2023. iPhone 14, iPhone 13, iPhone 12 and some other previous iPhones will get this update.

iOS 17 Update

iOS 17 is expected to bring a ton of new features for Apple's iPhones. However, before the update is rolled out to the public, it is made available for testing in the iOS Beta program. Users should note that the beta version of iOS is unstable and contains bugs and glitches as it is still in the testing phase. After all those developers signed up for the beta programme have tested it, Apple rolls out the new iOS. to the public

So, which iPhone owners will get iOS 17? According to latest reports, several iPhones are expected to receive Apple's next big update. However, some will be disappointed as they will not get it.

Reason behind this is that Apple supports iPhones for a period of almost 5 years, but as the older chipsets get obsolete, they are incapable of running the latest iOS version. It also leaves them susceptible to hacking as the security features can get compromised.
