Apple's costliest headphones: Here's how much Indians will pay for AirPods Max ear cushions
Apple yesterday unveiled its AirPods Max, marking an official entry in the headphones segment. While the social media had mixed reactions on the price of this premium headphones – ₹59,900, many also made fun of its ear cushion accessory. That's because the mere ear cushion replacement costs ₹6,500. That is a price in which you can get budget Android smartphone. In the US, the ear cushion costs $69. Fortunately, you may not need these replacements immediately as the headphones do come with magnetic ear cushions inside the box.
As per the listing on the Apple online store in India, the AirPods Max ear cushions comes in all five colours, matching with the colour scheme of the headphones – Silver, Black, Green, Sky Blue and Red.
That said, the new AirPods Max headphone don't come with a charger inside the box. This is a part of Apple's move to become a Carbon-free company in the next few years. During the launch of iPhone 12, it did announce that going forward, all the iPhones retail boxes will miss out on the charger and earpods.
In a recent report by Bloomberg, the AirPods Max might take a while before they reach the hands of end users. While some early adopters are witnessing a delivery date of a couple of weeks, for some the dates are going up to January and even February.
In India, while the Silver and Red colour model is showing delivery in next couple of weeks, the Black colour variant's delivery date is reaching up to first week of January. For Green and Sky Blue models, the delivery date shows '12-14 weeks', which means March first week.
