Apple iPhone X to launch in India on November 3, price starts at 89,000

With price starting at 89,000, the Apple iPhone X is the most expensive iPhone so far.

The star of Tuesday's much-awaited Apple event was undoubtedly the iPhone X. The smartphone joins the league of Essential Phone, Mi MIX 2 and several other smartphones to feature an edge-to-edge display. India will be among the first wave of the markets to see the iPhone X launch: It will be available in India from November 3, with a price tag starting at 89,000. The pre-order for the phone will begin on October 27.

Just like iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone X will be available in 64GB and 256GB storage variants. Apple will be offering in-house designed accessories including leather and silicone cases, with prices starting at 3,500. A new iPhone X Leather Folio will be available for 8,600. The company is also offering lightning docks in colour-matching metallic finishes for 4,700.

Apple iPhone X: Specifications, features

The iPhone X comes with a 5.8-inch OLED multi-touch edge-to-edge display with 2436 x 1125 pixels resolution along with 458ppi pixel density. The smartphone runs on 64-bit A11 Bionic chipset with embedded M11 motion coprocessor.

The smartphone comes with dual 12-megapixel wide-angle and telephoto cameras with ƒ/1.8 aperture and ƒ/2.4 aperture respectively. Both the sensors come with optical image stabilisation. The camera setup is accompanied by quad LED True Tone flash. The iPhone X can shoot 4K video recording at 24 fps, 30 fps, or 60 fps. The smartphone also has a 7-megapixel front-facing camera, which can also take Portrait mode photos.

Besides the edge-to-edge display, another highlight of the iPhone X is Face ID, a 3D facial recognition technology that can be used biometric authentication and payment verification. There's also a TrueDepth camera that analyses more than 50 different muscle movements to mirror your facial expressions in 12 "animoji."

The iPhone X also supports Qi wireless charging standard. Apple has also introduced an AirPower mat wireless charger, which is also compatible with the new Apple Watch and AirPods.
