Apple Music adds Holi 2021 playlist, features star-made ‘Holi Party’ playlists

In addition to the editor-curated playlist, the streaming service has also partnered with stars to feature ‘Holi party’ playlists created by them.

The past year has been a strange experience for everyone spending a lot of time indoors, with many of our favourite festivals like Ganesh Chaturthi, Diwali, Christmas and now Holi being spent at home or in a socially distanced manner. However, music is one of the few things that has managed to unite everyone with a sense of hope, and Apple Music has now got a fresh set of Holi-themed playlists.

The first playlist curated by Apple Music's Editors is called ‘Holi Dance Party' featuring colourful playlist artwork of a shoeflower surrounded by the Holi colours in powder form pouring from a purple container. It features 86 songs with a playtime of five hours and 21 minutes and features artists such as Benny Dayal, Vishal Dadlani, Vishal and Shekhar, DIVINE, Major C, Divya Kumar, Asses Kaur, Sachin-Jigar, Mellow D and Badshah.

In addition to the playlist created by the Apple Music Editors, the streaming service has also partnered with stars to feature ‘Holi party' playlists created by them. Listeners can choose playlists from Amit Trivedi, Neha Kakkar, Raftaar, Tony Kakkar, SANAM, Harshdeep Kaur, and Bhuvan Bam. These curated playlists feature Bollywood tracks chosen by these celebrities and are currently available from the same ‘Holi' category as Apple's playlist.

Apple regularly curates playlists for popular current events and special occasions. The last time the service made custom playlists this year was for International Women's Day, women who are leaders in their field, breaking records, topping charts, and inspiring others through their work, advocacy, and influence within pop culture and beyond --- “Visionary Women” curated playlists from artists and influencers from all over the world.
