KGI Securities analyst is at it again and this time he brings good news for all who are miffed after Apple launched its latest family of MacBook Pro at a starting price of ₹1,29,900.

According to Kuo, who is considered to be the best Apple analyst, Apple is expected to reduce prices of the MacBooks in the second half of 2017 and also do a hardware refresh on the same. Moreover, he anticipates that as the USB-C market matures and the Touch Bar matures, customers will become more enticed to upgrade. In terms of specifications, he predicts that Apple will come out with a 32GB RAM variant if Intel releases its Canonlake processors in time.

Kuo also explains why Apple might be interested in Canonlake processors. Canonlake CPU with LPDDR 4 RAM consumes lesser power compared to other existing processors. He also noted that if Canonlake CPUs don't make it in time, Apple will be forced to adopt Intel's Coffee Lake processors, which use LPDDR 3 RAM, making out at 16GB because of power consumption.

Interestingly, Apple executive Phil Schiller has also said that the primary reason behind Apple's decision to forgo offering a 32GB RAM option with the new MacBook Pros is because of power consumption.

However, Apple's latest MacBook Pro family has faced mixed reactions. While some users were swept off their feet with the utility of the Touch Bar and Touch ID, most of them are hesitant to updrade given the high price of the devices.

Apple launched its new series of 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Pro on October 27. While the 13-inch MacBook Pro starts ₹129,900 and features a 2.0 GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor with Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.1 GHz, 8GB of memory and 256GB of flash storage, and was being shipped immediately after the launch, the 13-inch Pro with the Touch Bar starts at ₹1,55,900 and features a 2.9 GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor with Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.3 GHz, 8GB of memory and 256GB of flash storage. The Touch Bar 13-inch MacBook Pro was expected to ship in two to three weeks after the launch.

On the other hand, the 15-inch MacBook Pro starts at ₹2,05,900 and features a 2.6 GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor with Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.5 GHz, 16GB of memory and 256GB of flash storage. The 15-inch, which will also come with the Touch Bar and Touch Id, was also expected to start shipping in two to three weeks, Apple said in a statement.
